The extension can be either static or it may be changed by the user, whenever the mobile number has been assigned to another person. For instance, if your mobile number is assigned to a relative, the name will be replaced by the extension. It is not important to change the extension, since the extension is fixed and not subject to change. However, there are certain extensions that cannot be assigned to another person, and this should be remembered before calling the Helpline.
You can use the Helpline to make any of the above-mentioned numbers, however, before doing so, you will need to dial the correct extension of your number. If your extension differs from others on the line, then the other users will not be able to connect to your call, and they would not receive your message.
Once the extension has been entered, you should press the send button, and the Helpline will give you an extension of nine digits. You should be careful in entering this number, because some Helplines might try to give you the wrong extension, since it can affect the quality of your call. If you do not enter the right extension, your message might go straight to voicemail, and some other operators might even hang up your call.
You can then dial the extension and press the return key. If you are a member of the cat, then you will hear the extension being displayed on the screen. If you are not a member, and if the extension is incorrect, then the Helpline might inform you that the number you dialed is incorrect. If you are a member, then you can just press the send button and press the return key to disconnect.
This might happen because you dialed the wrong extension. The Helpline is programmed to give you the extension of the person who is using the call, and you can check this before using the Helpline. In case you are using a non-MCat Helpline, then you would be required to type this number manually into the search box, and press the search button. to find out who is currently using your call.
There are many situations when the Helpline will ask you to enter the extension of the caller. For example, if you are trying to find a loved one, or a lost relative, then the Helpline will ask you to provide the extension of the person you are looking for. If you enter the wrong extension, then you might not get the right person, and your message might get transferred to voicemail.
Even though the Helpline is very useful, sometimes, you may not be able to find your loved one in a hurry, or you may find your relative’s address, but it would still take a little time before you can give your message to him or her.
